Project Objectives
This project proposes to reconstruct Old Military Road (CR 35), from west of the intersection with Carolyn Road to John Brown Road (southern connection). Numerous sub-standard features are present within the project limits, resulting in limited sight distance, which increases the potential for traffic accidents. The objectives of this project are as follows:
• Improve roadway geometry by eliminating sub-standard
features
to
the extent possible.
• Provide a cost effective pavement treatment for a useful
service
life of 20 years.
• Replace the deteriorated structure over Chubb River.
• Improve various intersections alignments with Old Military Road.
• Increase sight distance and improve turning movements.
• Improve the pedestrian access facility along the
east side of Old
Military Road (CR 35)
from the
NYS Olympic Regional Development
Authority Driveway to Station
Street.
• Improve overall walking and bicycle access accommodations
along the corridor.
• Improve the existing drainage collection system
within the
project limits.
