Route 3 Bridge Replacement over the Salmon River

Foit-Albert Associates provided a Level III Senior Inspector, Level II Inspector and Inspector Trainee, Level I. The reconstruction work included:

  • Replacement of two existing multiple span bridges with two new bridges on new horizontal and vertical alignment. The new bridges consist of multiple spans and multiple steel girders w/composite concrete deck.
  • Construction of new embankment and highway pavement section on the newly aligned highway at the approaches and between the two bridges.
  • Construction of new Closed Drainage system throughout length of project. Length of project being 1,100 meters.
  • Construction of two new traffic signals.
  • Milling and overlay of existing pavement beyond newly aligned highway.
  • Construction of new pavement markings and signage.
  • Construction of a new fishing access including parking lot, ramp to dock and new fishing dock.
  • New landscaping including topsoil, seeding, sodding and plantings including bushes and trees.
  • Permanent erosion control including heavy and medium stone fill.
  • Construction of new Geosynthetic Reinforced Earth System (GRES) between stages.
