"B" District Police Facility

This facility occupies an area of 20,300 gross square feet, and is programmed primarily for offices to house workspace for detectives, lieutenants, captains, and the chief district inspector. Included in the facility is a fitness center. There are large locker and shower facilities for the street officers, along with associated training, report, storage, and exercise rooms.

The public function is particularly critical, as Main Street and the neighboring theaters create a major pedestrian thoroughfare. The two-story public lobby and corner community room provide a spacious environment for community interaction with the Police Department.

Foit-Albert Associates’ goal for the “B” District Police Facility was to design a welcoming and civic gesture to the public, as well as providing a state-of-the-art facility that exceeds the Buffalo Police Department's needs set by the City of Buffalo.
