The
Delavan Fillmore Fire Station
The City of Buffalo
began a consolidation program to modernize their Fire Department
by planning the construction of new fire stations to replace
and combine existing facilities. A fire re-organization committee
was established and Foit-Albert Associates was engaged to perform
the following tasks:
• Develop a program
to establish the design criteria for the new stations.
• Prepare a schematic design and construction estimate for a proto-typical
station.
• Complete the design, prepare construction documents, lend bidding
assistance and provide construction review for the first new station
to be erected on Fillmore Avenue near Delavan Avenue in Buffalo.
The 10,910 SF Delavan
Fillmore Fire Station houses Engine 33 as well as the Federal
Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives’ mobile
investigation unit.
The firehouse has two truck bays, and can be
expanded to include a third bay. Also included in the design
of this facility are:
• Full kitchen break room
• Day room
• Fitness room
• Locker rooms
• Dormitory
• Officer’s quarters
• Shower facilities
• Decontamination and drying rooms
