Mill and Fill
Program (Group MF5)
Foit-Albert Associates provided
engineering services for the Erie County 2003 Mill and Fill
Program (Group
MF5). Foit-Albert’s limit of Mill and Fill included Boston
State Road, CR227,
Springville-Boston Road, CR228 from Boston Colden Road to
Sharp Street and Bagdad Road, CR505 from N.Y.S. Route 39
to N.Y.S. Route 62. This
fast track program included survey, preliminary design report,
contract documents including plans, specifications and cost
estimate, bidding
services and construction administration including construction
inspection.
The project included milling existing asphalt concrete and overlay
with new binder and top courses on two two-lane collector roads. Work
included improvements to deficient site distances, shoulder backup,
replacement of some guide rail, some full depth pavement and shoulder
construction, cleaning closed drainage structures, rehabilitation
of driveway aprons, pavement stripes and maintenance and protection
of traffic. Total length of project is 4.5 miles.
